2021 Organic Swan Clone Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills AVA)

Our third vintage in a row featuring this bright, silky and smooth old-world style Pinot Noir, the Swan Clone has become the signature wine for Voyz'n, and is now carried on lists in over 80 fine restaurants in Southern California. We love Swan by itself and will continue to explore how these original Burgundy clones express themselves in the unique terroir of the Sta. Rita Hills. Slightly lighter than our 667/115 Pinot, it softens in the glass with beautiful concentration, while still staying light on its feet. Hand-crafted and aged for 20 months in premium French Oak (33% new barrels), this low-intervention single vineyard Pinot Noir is velvety and rich with bright red fruit, complex aromatics and a long finish of raspberry and ripe strawberry dominating the palate. The organically farmed Swan clone fruit was intensified by the diatomaceous soil and cool ocean fog on the steep hillsides of the Donnachadh vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County, CA. Family owned and organically farmed, Donnachadh is located on Santa Rosa Road, an area increasingly known for producing excellent pinot. The hillside blocks, devoted primarily to Pinot Noir, are more exposed to the ocean winds. The soil there is derived from marine shale deposits and features more clay, rocks and cobbles than the riverside blocks. Overall, the hillside environment is quite challenging for the vines, limiting yields and producing grapes of exceptional character. Produced naturally with minimal intervention and very low SO2. All bottles are hand numbered by the winemaker. Only 124 cases were made. Enjoy now or hold in your cellar.
